Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about where things run and who answers the phone.
- What is a cloud VPS?
- A virtual server with its own processor cores, memory and NVMe disk, carved out of a physical machine by KVM. It behaves like a server of your own: you get root access, choose the operating system and install whatever you need.
- How much does a VPS cost?
- From ₾50.00 a month, paid in lari by Georgian card or bank transfer. A year costs exactly twelve monthly payments, so starting monthly costs you nothing extra.
- Which operating systems can I install?
- Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS and Fedora, installed from the portal. You can also upload an ISO image of your own and install from that.
- Can I run MetaTrader or a trading robot?
- Yes, with two things to know first. We install only Linux and do not sell Windows licences: MetaTrader runs on Linux under Wine, or you can upload your own Windows ISO with a licence you own. And the servers are in Helsinki, so check the ping to your broker's server before relying on it for fast trading.
- VPS or web hosting: which do I need?
- A VPS, if you need your own server with root access to install whatever you like; administering it is then up to you. Web hosting, if you only want a website and email without looking after a server: we run the machine and you get cPanel.
- Where are your servers physically located?
- In European datacentres — our hardware runs in a tier-III facility in Helsinki, Finland. myserv.ge is a Georgian company: billing is in lari, and support answers from Tbilisi in Georgian, Russian and English.
- Do you back up my server?
- Yes. We back up servers regularly. Keeping a copy of your own as well is still good practice.
