A .ge domain is the address a Georgian business is found at. This is what it costs with us, how long it takes, and what you actually get — with no rounding in our favour.

What it costs

  • Registration: ₾40 for one year.
  • Renewal: ₾40 a year — the same price, not a discounted first year that trebles later.
  • Transfer from another registrar: ₾30, and it adds a year to whatever time you have left.
  • For comparison, .com, .net and .org are ₾50 a year each.

DNS management and WHOIS privacy are included. There is no separate charge for either.

How long it takes

Usually one business day, and this is the part most hosts are vague about, so here is the plain version.

International domains — .com, .net, .org and the rest — register automatically. You pay, and the domain is yours within a minute or two.

A .ge does not work that way with us yet. We register it by hand with the Georgian registry after your payment clears, which normally takes less than one business day. If you order on a Friday evening, expect Monday.

We would rather tell you that before you pay than have you refresh a page all evening wondering what went wrong.

The steps

  1. Search for the name you want. If it is taken, you will see so immediately — that check is live against the registry.
  2. Add it to your order. You can register a domain on its own, or alongside hosting or a mailbox.
  3. Pay by card, or by bank transfer if you prefer.
  4. We register the domain. You get an email when it is done.
  5. Point it wherever you like from the DNS panel in your account.

After it is registered

The domain is yours, registered in your name. You get a DNS panel where you can add and edit records yourself — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA — without opening a support ticket.

If you are setting up email on the domain, the panel can publish the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for you in one step, rather than making you copy five values by hand.

Moving a .ge you already own

A transfer costs ₾30 and adds a year to your existing expiry, so you lose nothing by moving. You will need the transfer code from your current registrar. Your website and email keep working throughout — a transfer changes who bills you, not where the domain points.
